Zimbabwean
University student’s future lies bleak at the failure by the government to pay
lectures has forced a wave of strikes right round the country.
Lectures have
not been paid their wages and allowances dating back to January. The University of Zimbabwe students were
forced to abort their lectures yesterday amid revelations that lectures and
general hand at the institution downed tools and ordered everyone out of the
university with immediate effect.

MDC condems illegal occupation of Maleme Ranch-farm

The Movement for Democratic Change Led by Professor Welshman Ncube has condemned the illegal occupation of the Maleme farmland by unscrupulous Zanu Pf officials.
In a press statement, the MDC Matabeleland South Provincial information department said it was purely out of taste that the government gazettes a fully utilized community land and gives it to an individual. “We understand it to be government policy that the foundation of land reform is the empowerment of indigenous local communities. It thus makes no sense that land which is fully being utilized by local indigenous communities is acquired by the State
